
Pokémon GO | GO Tour /Heritage
For this campaign, we helped Pokémon GO drive excitement for one of their biggest events of the year: Pokémon GO Tour: Johto.
With the event focusing on the Johto region & paying homage to both Pokémon Gold & Silver we decided to lean into nostalgia for this campaign. And with good reason, for many of us, part of the magic of our childhood was Pokémon. We remember watching the TV show, choosing our starter Pokémon in the game, and going on our first journey as a Pokémon trainer.
And while those kids are now adults, we wanted to remind them of the magic they felt back in 1999, when they were first introduced to the wonders of the Johto region. But also, offer something entirely new, something only Pokémon GO could provide.
TARGET AUDIENCES: Existing PGO players & new/lapsed players.
TRUTH: We all wish to reclaim the magic of our childhood.
STRATEGY: A familiar tale featuring legends like you’ve never seen them before.
This strategy resulted in the Johto Unleashed campaign platform and came to life across video, paid digital, and social (paid + organic).
